The Exped Ultra 6.5R is a high-performance, four-season sleeping mat designed for lightweight backpacking in cold and alpine conditions. It’s built for trips where warmth-to-weight efficiency matters most — from winter camping in the mountains to shoulder-season trekking where temperatures regularly drop below freezing.
At its core, the mat uses Exped’s Synmat Plus Technology™, combining recycled synthetic insulation with reflective internal layers to trap body heat and reduce ground cold transfer. This allows it to deliver reliable insulation without the bulk of traditional winter mats, while still packing down small enough for fast and light expeditions.
The rectangular Ultra 6.5R balances comfort and efficiency with a stable, supportive sleep surface and a 3.5-inch profile. Welded air chambers improve stability and reduce cold spots, while the Comfort Cradle™ side rails help keep you centred through the night. Despite its warmth rating, it remains lightweight, quiet in use, and quick to inflate and deflate in the field.
